As a child born with a chronic heart defect, I faced significant health challenges early on. However, rather than letting this hold me back, I immersed myself in books about ancient civilisations and world history. These readings broadened my perspective beyond my native country South Korea and ignited a deep curiosity about other cultures.
Years later, this thirst for exploration led me to travel independently to over 30 countries. The experiences gained from these journeys were truly transformative, shaping my worldview and ambitions. I realised that my dream was to forge meaningful connections across the globe. This realisation ultimately guided me to pursue the Executive MBA at London Business School. This program not only offers career development opportunities but has also become a platform for building a global network. Beyond learning from my diverse EMBA cohorts in the classroom, I have had the chance to connect with people around the world during brief yet impactful visits over the last six months.
From the bustling streets of London to the serene charm of Paris, the Spanish passion city of Malaga, the innovative skyline of Abu Dhabi to the vibrant energy of Hong Kong, the blend of East and West in Tokyo, the K-Culture hub of Seoul, the artistic precision of Geneva and Zurich, and the petit-Paris charm of Bucharest, my six months at LBS have been a journey of profound discovery; meeting cohorts and alumni around the world has enriched my career and life with invaluable insights.
I am grateful for the knowledge, perspective, and international connections that have emerged from my personal journey thus far, and I am excited to see where the next chapter will lead. Special thanks to the EMBA London and Dubai cohorts, as well as the broader alumni network, for being such a great part of this transformative experience.
