Diving into MiFFT2025 at LBS: Insights from the Orientation Week
As I wrapped up the pre-program session at London Business School for the MiFFT2025, I found myself reflecting on the whirlwind of experiences already unfolding. This journey has been about embracing feedback, challenging my preconceived notions, and discovering the true power of continuous growth – key elements for anyone aspiring to leadership roles. This first week has been incredible, and I cannot wait to apply these insights as I tackle upcoming challenges. LBS has opened an entirely new world, where each day brings fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and connect.
The MiFFT2025 BBQ: The Beginning of Lifelong Connections
The MiFFT2025 BBQ at Sussex Place served as an incredible icebreaker! It created a fun, casual atmosphere to meet classmates and alumni from around the globe, setting the perfect tone for the collaborative spirit LBS fosters. Sharing stories and experiences across diverse cultures was enriching and marked an ideal start to this journey.
Beyond the interactions, the beauty of the LBS campus – the lush green Sussex lawns and stunning architecture – has quickly made it feel like home. The serene surroundings inspire deep reflection, learning, and meaningful connections with people from all walks of life.
A Powerful Introduction: Milestones on Our Memorable Journey
Orientation Week ignited a spark of transformation as we were welcomed by the LBS Dean, Vice Dean, and Programme Team, who shared their inspiring personal journeys. It was fascinating to hear what brought each of them to LBS and how they contributed to making this school the incredible institution it is today.
I particularly enjoyed hearing the Alumni Panel share their brilliant journeys – their achievements serve as living testaments to the kind of growth and leadership development LBS fosters. From day one, the excitement was non-stop, it wasn’t just an introduction; it was a powerful reminder of what lies ahead – countless opportunities to grow and push your boundaries.
Harnessing Global Diversity: 134 Voices, One Collaborative Journey
What sets LBS apart is how it turns every interaction into a learning moment. The sheer diversity of our class is truly inspiring, in the best possible way. With 134 students from 44 nationalities, each bringing unique expertise and passion, it is remarkable to experience so many perspectives in one place.
The joy of cross-cultural collaboration has been one of the most rewarding aspects so far; our differences enhance the collective experience.
Global Perspectives: Learning and Thriving Together at LBS with Cross-Cultural Collaboration
My cohort consists of incredibly talented individuals from various parts of the world, all driven by a shared goal of leadership and excellence. What makes this experience so impactful is our unique set of perspectives, shaped by our cultural, professional, and personal backgrounds. Together, we embrace challenges with enthusiasm and learn from one another. This diversity fosters a dynamic environment at LBS, where everyone contributes and grows.
Away Day: Bonding in the Heart of Adventure
One of the most exhilarating parts of Week 1 was Away Day – a thrilling adventure designed to challenge and bond us as a cohort. I vividly remember the anticipation of meeting 130 of the brightest minds from across the globe. The team-building exercises were not only fun but also incredibly insightful, highlighting the importance of mutual support, collaboration, and effective leadership – elements that will shape our journey together.
The rope exercise stood out for me; while I won’t spoil it for those who will experience it next, it was unforgettable!!
A Week of Discovery, Growth, and Excitement
Having spent over nine years in global financial markets and corporate finance, I naively thought moving to London would be just another chapter in my relocation story. Little did I know that LBS would redefine my concept of challenge and growth. From the moment I set foot on campus, I realised this was not merely a change of scenery, it was a transformative journey.
Each day at LBS feels like a stimulating test, crafted to elevate my thinking, sharpen my skills, and expand my horizons. It is a continuous cycle of learning, unlearning, and relearning.
Looking Ahead: The Path to Leadership and Personal Growth
As I step into Term 1, I am eager to see where this journey leads. My time at LBS is a testament to growth – a period of reflection, challenge, and transformation. The excitement and energy here surpass anything I imagined. I look forward to the learning moments ahead and am committed to seizing every opportunity for self-improvement. As I reflect on these thoughts, I am filled with curiosity about the journey ahead, knowing this is only the beginning of a transformative path of self-discovery and professional growth.
