We’re very delighted to welcome our newest Sloan cohort, who began Orientation Week on Monday, 8th of December. A talented group of 36 executive professionals has embarked on a one‑year journey in the vibrant city of London which has become the new home for the majority international students.
Looking at the numbers, the cohort’s seniority has risen from 18 to 19 years of work experience, which emphasises seasoned leaders’ need to pause, reflect, and upskill using strategic tools that foster change, growth, and success.
Diversity is one of London Business School’s greatest strengths. This class spans all continents, with students from 18 countries and 24 distinct cities. Asia remains our largest market; however, we saw greater interest from the UK and the USA this year, which highlights the potential of these particular regions.
Women are very well represented in the programme, with participation up from 33% to 36% year‑on‑year. This shows the demand and power of female leadership within the highest management ranks of organisations and society.
By industry, finance leads with 19% representation, followed by consulting at 17%. IT and power generation each account for 8%, whereas the rest of the industries are non-traditional, such as cosmetics, entertainment or food and beverages. Many students have worked across a wide range of sectors, further underscoring the rich perspectives they bring to the classroom. By function, management roles are most prevalent, covering accounts, operations, and product management; at the same time, the cohort has several entrepreneurs, bankers, chartered accountants, lawyers, civil servants, and strategists.
Academically, the new Sloans are very strong and already comfortable with the classroom setting: almost half of them hold another postgraduate degree, including five with an MBA/EMBA.
With Orientation Week complete, students are heading into a well‑deserved festive break. We look forward to welcoming them back in January as the core courses begin.
