By Tino Matienga (Student Recruitment Manager, One-year MBA)
Our new One-year MBA programme welcomes its inaugural class this August. The One-year MBA is a specialist MBA and the first in Europe to build on existing knowledge of Master’s in Management or equivalent degrees to deliver an MBA qualification in 11 months.
The programme will be delivered by our expert faculty, who are practitioners with first-hand experience in the business world. It is underpinned by three key themes: Navigating the New Business Environment, Rethinking Corporate Purpose and Individual Agency and Entrepreneurship
These themes focus on key business areas, building on general management concepts and exploring how they can be applied to address current business challenges. This ensures that the programme offers a curriculum that is concise, relevant and gives future graduates tools to tackle complex business challenges to be at the forefront of innovation.
At the end of the One-year MBA, graduates will have a better understanding of business issues such as sustainability and digital transformation – which makes this programme a unique and valuable offering in today’s evolving and dynamic business climate!

A snapshot of the recent MBA Employment Report shows 86% of graduates accepted an offer within three months of graduating and 22 graduates went on to start their own venture. The report has a 100% reporting rate, which means that we know exactly where each of our graduates have ended up after their time with us.
It is worth noting that the current MBA Employment Report is relevant to the 15-21-month MBA only. We anticipate that these statistics will be mirrored on the One-year MBA.
A customizable programme
The One-year MBA builds on your pre-existing knowledge that you would have gained from a Master in Management or equivalent degree programme to deliver a bespoke, short core course in term one.
Through the electives and experiential courses on offer you can tailor your MBA programme to suit your career goals. Electives are courses, chosen by you, that help you build around or even develop your skillset. Elective courses are taught in a range of formats including weekly sessions over 10 weeks, bi-weekly sessions and even some courses in evening and weekend or block week format. MBA students have more access to weekly and bi-weekly daytime course formats. Block weeks formats are a full course taught over 5 days; these are popular for students looking to study a full elective course in a shorter duration.
With over 80 electives across a variety of subject areas and in a range of formats to choose from you will have the flexibility to choose courses that work around your schedule and fit your professional goals. Our electives are not just specific to the One-year MBA cohort, which means there will be opportunities to work with students across various programmes.
Hands on programme with global exposure
The programme has been designed to further develop these international links and outlook through our Global Experiences courses. Here you are supported by a member of faculty and challenged in real world contexts to apply your learning. Each Global Experience explores a theme, which gives an insight into the destination and its business practices. Previous destinations have included Johannesburg, Riyadh and Lima to name a few.
Likewise, the optional LondonCAP module makes use of our links within the London business community to work on various projects that address real business issues/challenges being faced by local and international brands based in London. Clients change year on year, previous clients have included Nike, Google, British Red Cross, Mastercard and Penhaligon’s.
We also offer a diverse cohort and international community which you can engage with in various networking events, clubs and societies. You will truly develop a global mindset – which is important in creating future global leaders within business.
