The EMBA-Global programme is a collaborative initiative between London Business School and Columbia Business School, designed to provide world-class academic experiences in two major global centers – London and New York. Upon completing the two-year curriculum, students earn a separate MBA from these prestigious institutions.
We are excited to welcome 36 exceptional students this year, who began their Orientation week in London on May 10th. They have a comprehensive week planned, including introductions, icebreakers to get to know their peers, programme and class overviews, academic regulations, coaching sessions, and the first core modules.
Looking at the class composition, the representation of women has been steadily increasing, now making up 40% of the student body, which fosters a more balanced social dynamic and study groups. The average work experience of the cohort has increased from 13 to 14 years, indicating a trend towards attracting more seasoned professionals.
In terms of demographics, the cohort includes 15 different nationalities, with the largest group (39%) coming from the United States, followed by China (13%) and Kazakhstan (8%); overall, there is a good representation from various continents.
Regarding industry representation, the finance sector remains the most significant, with nearly half of the class involved in finance-related positions, which will facilitate stronger collaboration with peers from non-traditional backgrounds. Typical in every EMBA cohort, the General Manager role is dominant, along with various managerial roles, and a smaller number of entrepreneurs, consultants, accountants, and investors.
Academically, the class is well-prepared, featuring students who hold additional postgraduate degrees or relevant qualifications such as the CFA.
