Deep dive into the learning experience on the One-year MBA programme

The One-year MBA programme launched in August 2026, welcoming a class size of 33 students who joined a range of different industries, such as consulting, construction, marketing and private equity.

The programme has been designed with an accelerated structure which delivers a full MBA qualification upon successful completion within 11-months. This is the same credential as our flagship MBA programme, but in a shorter timeframe!

This is why the programme has been carefully crafted with a prerequisite of Masters in Management or equivalent qualification, which would have covered those key business areas of finance, accounting, economics, data analytics, strategy, marketing and organisational behaviour. This prior study ensures that the majority of the legwork has been covered and allows our students to apply this existing knowledge in our core courses, which are more contemporary in nature and address topical business issues.

The learning journey begins with 10 core courses, most of which are covered within the first 2-3 months of the programme. They have been designed to cover current business challenges and opportunities. Some core courses include Data Science and Climate Change, as well as Applied Corporate Finance, which puts into focus key business challenges like sustainability and the growing impact of AI and emerging technologies on business.

From around October, once the majority of core elements have been completed, students gain access to our portfolio of over 80 electives. This is the most flexible part of the programme as students can tailor their learning by selecting courses that align with their interests. These are delivered in different formats like evening classes, intensive block weeks and electives taught over 5 or 10 weeks, which allows students to choose options that best fit their schedules.

The elective portfolio is extensive and covers various business subjects from finance, accounting, management and operations. This is the part of the programme, where you can really begin to craft your MBA experience to support your post-MBA career goals by focusing on electives such as Digital Investing, Equity Investment Management and so many more.

We recently caught up with some One-year MBA students, who shared their insights into their classroom experience so far:

Vanya Kumar

“Classroom learning has been both grounding and stretching, taking familiar concepts into broader, real-world contexts. I particularly valued how sustainability was integrated into decision-making and strategy. Courses like Paths to Power stood out, sharpening my approach to stakeholder management and authentic leadership.”

Vicky Wei

“The One-year MBA programme has offered me the opportunity to learn at an accelerated pace, as the core courses gave me the chance to apply what I had already learnt in my masters. This accelerated learning has been valuable and given me the flexibility to focus my interests through the wide elective portfolio.”

Israel Thomas

“The learning experience has enabled me to explore key themes such as AI, sustainability, competition, and data-driven decision-making, not just in theory but through real-world application. It’s been a reflective experience; constantly challenging how I think about business problems and encouraging a more holistic, forward-looking approach to problem-solving.”
