Tatika Catipay, a current EMBA-Global student, shares her insights along with those of her study group members on the impact of collaborating within their group so far.
The highlight of working in our study group has been the incredible synergy that emerges from our diversity and shared respect. Coming together as a truly global team – each member bringing unique perspectives from their cultures, professions and backgrounds – was initially a challenge, as we learned to navigate our differences and adapt to one another’s styles. Yet, this very diversity has become our greatest strength, enabling us to tackle problems from angles we’d never consider alone.
Through collaboration, mutual curiosity and unwavering support, we’ve built an environment where every voice is valued and every idea has the potential to evolve into something extraordinary. Whether debating late into the night or celebrating each other’s wins, we operate not just as classmates but as partners, bound by a profound respect and a shared sense of purpose.
This dynamic blend of camaraderie, intellectual rigour, and global perspectives is something no book or self-study could ever replicate. It’s a cornerstone of what makes the EMBA Global programme so extraordinary and a key reason why these relationships feel like enduring connections that will stay with us far beyond the classroom.
In 3 words, how would you describe your study group?
“Electric, supportive, transformational.”
“Electric” captures the incredible diversity of our group – a vibrant mix of cultures, industries and life experiences. Each member brings unique perspectives that spark creativity and challenges us to think beyond our usual frameworks.
“Supportive” reflects the profound sense of belonging we’ve built. Beyond academics, we genuinely care for one another, offering kindness, encouragement and collaboration. It’s a safe space where ideas are valued, challenges are overcome together and growth is a shared journey.
“Transformational” embodies the essence of what this experience has been. Collaborating with such talented and experienced individuals has reshaped the way we think, learn and lead. Their insights, forged through years of navigating high-stakes roles, bring unparalleled depth and relevance to our discussions. The lessons we’ve shared and the connections we’ve formed will last well beyond this programme.
Their experience is fundamental – it bridges the gap between theory and practice, bringing business concepts to life in a way no book ever could. Their real-world insights provide richness and relevance to our discussions, allowing us to learn from their successes, challenges and strategies.
