EMBA-Global is a truly motivating programme that unites like-minded professionals eager to elevate their management and leadership abilities. Participants gain a global outlook, valuable connections, and the tools needed to advance their careers through a variety of resources, personalized support, conferences, and networking opportunities. One of our EMBA-Global students, Christy Wang, has fully embraced the endless portfolio of opportunities provided by the programme, acquiring new perspectives on contemporary business challenges and possibilities. Let’s take a moment to hear about her experiences as she wraps up her first year at LBS and CBS:

I’m Christy, a proud member of the LBS EMBA-Global 2026 cohort, a joint programme with Columbia Business School. With a diverse background spanning financial management, risk assessment, marketing, and entrepreneurship, I’m also a US-registered CPA. Since 2022, I’ve embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, driven by a passion for innovation and global business growth.
Why the EMBA-Global Programme?
The EMBA-Global programme offers a truly international perspective, aligning with my strategic vision as a senior business professional with strong ties to the U.S. and China. I sought a programme that would broaden my global perspective, enhance my leadership capabilities, and provide access to diverse business ecosystems to navigate the complexities of an evolving global economy.

During a study group dinner, a casual conversation with my dear Saudi friend sparked an idea – how we might leverage cross-border resources across Saudi Arabia, China, and the U.S. to explore emerging business opportunities. Inspired by this discussion, I took immediate action. Just days after our New York block week, I embarked on my first visit to Jeddah and Riyadh, immersing myself in the region’s business environment, cultural landscape, and economic potential. The experience was eye-opening, providing firsthand insight into the Middle East’s dynamism and its increasingly influential role in global markets.

Shortly after my Saudi trip, ahead of my Dubai block week on AI & ML Applications in Business, I attended the LBS Annual Middle East Conference, Future Forward. This event was a turning point, expanding my understanding of regional and global innovation trends. Engaging with industry leaders such as H.E. Jassem Al Zaabi (Chairman of the Department of Finance – Abu Dhabi), Ahmed Galal Ismail (CEO and Board Member at Majid Al Futtaim), and Jeremy Lester (CEO of Magna NEOM) provided invaluable perspectives on NEOM’s transformative vision, the future of smart cities, and Abu Dhabi’s AI advancements through G42. These discussions reinforced my appreciation for the region’s rapid technological and economic advancements.
The experiences I have gained through the EMBA-Global programme have exceeded my expectations – not only by offering access to world-class faculty and business leaders but also by creating opportunities to connect, collaborate, and challenge perspectives on a global scale. This journey has reaffirmed why EMBA-Global is the ideal platform for professionals seeking to navigate complex international markets, drive meaningful impact, and embrace leadership in an interconnected world.
