Choosing to do an MBA: How we can help

by Caroline Chukwuma, MBA Recruitment Coordinator

We appreciate that the MBA is a big investment for candidates, so the Recruitment Team are always at hand to provide you with as much information as possible and guide you as you prepare to make the important decision to apply for our MBA programme.

Whether you are at the crucial research stage or in the process of applying for our MBA programme, the Recruitment Team at LBS can offer you a wealth of support.

What we offer you:

Help with your research into the MBA programme
It can take weeks, months and even at times years, for candidates to decide on whether to do an MBA and which school to choose. Therefore we are here to answer any questions or queries you may have concerning the LBS MBA programme. We can send you further details or provide any information requested to help you understand all the great features and benefits of the programme. We will also share with you what we look for in an MBA candidate. Start your research by looking at our recently updated MBA brochure.

Find out your eligibility for the Programme
We will help you establish whether the LBS MBA is the right programme for you. We do this by conducting an informal CV review. This is not an admission’s decision, rather tailored advice based on reviewing your academic and professional background. Admission’s decisions are based on your completed application.

On-Campus 1-1 Consultation (Coffee Chat) or Phone Chat
A personal consultation gives you a chance to meet someone from the MBA Recruitment Team on campus. This is an opportunity to offer you tailored advice that will help you to submit a competitive application. We will answer any questions that you may have regarding the programme or the application process.

We also regularly travel around Europe to meet candidates for coffee chats in a city near to them.

MBA Drop-in Sessions
We run MBA drop-in sessions on campus, where you can talk to a member of the recruitment team and our Student Ambassadors. These events take place every Monday and Friday (beginning promptly at 14:30), last one hour and include a Q&A session and campus tour (weather permitting). There is no need to register in advance, simply report to our main Reception at around 14:20.

Information Sessions
Attend one of our monthly information sessions on campus that are delivered by the Recruitment and Admissions teams and discover further information on the MBA programme.  These sessions also provide an opportunity for you to meet current students and alumni, as well as other candidates planning to apply to the School. We also run international information sessions in many cities – find out where our next event will take place here.

Class visits
Why not request to sit in on a class? This will give you the opportunity to get a first-hand experience of our world-class faculty and the dynamism of the lectures, as well as the student interaction within a classroom environment. (You will need to have had a CV review before requesting a class visit.)

Finally, we will give you the necessary application guidance and support
Whether it’s reminding you of the upcoming deadline dates; giving you some tips on how to strengthen your application; or sending you more information on the requirements for the programme, we are here to help you submit a strong application.

At all points up until you submit your application, we are here to help you begin your journey and give you the best chance of becoming a successful student on the MBA 2021 Class!
