In my last blog, I gave a sneak peek into My first week at London Business School and how diversity defines this place. Now, as we’re wrapping up Term 1, it’s time to introduce my study group—my very own “Dream Team,” if you will. Study Group 15 isn’t just a lineup of talented people from around the world; they’re a blend of backgrounds, experiences, and quirks that make each session exciting and eye-opening.
What Exactly is a Study Group? At LBS, a study group is a collection of people from as varied professional and cultural backgrounds as possible. Think of it as your academic family. Each of us brings something unique to the table. We’ve got folks from the U.S., U.K., Thailand, Mexico, and India (that’s me!). Together, we dive into real-world cases, turning classroom theories into hands-on solutions for real-world challenges. And let me tell you, in the last 90 days, I’ve seen first-hand how teamwork can unravel the trickiest challenges.
About Me:
I’m Ishaan Sharma from New Delhi, India, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be here at LBS! With a Bachelor’s in Technology and six years of enriching strategy consulting experience at McKinsey, I came here with a drive to expand my horizons and make an impact. My passion lies in Financial Services and Technology, where I’ve had the privilege of working with clients across 20+ countries. There’s nothing more exhilarating to me than tackling complex problems head-on and delivering insights that spark real growth and innovation. Now, thanks to my study group, I’m learning to view problems from angles I hadn’t even considered. Each of us has our own leadership style and a go-to approach, and that diversity has been our biggest strength. Plus, we’ve become each other’s biggest fans (and occasional cheerleaders)!

Maggie McNamara: The Perfectionist with a Twist
Maggie’s our team’s financial genius and toughest critic. With a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard and 7 years at Vanguard — one of the largest global asset managers—she’s the voice that keeps us pushing for excellence. Maggie’s razor-sharp feedback drives us to step up our game every single time. Off the academic track, she was a leader on her college’s women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams. In our study group, her high standards keep us on our toes, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Ellie Bailey: The Time Wizard
Ellie is the one who keeps us organized and on schedule, ensuring we meet every deadline. With a background in startups and experience at firms like Deliveroo and Faire, Ellie knows how to build something from scratch and steer it to success. She’s also got a degree from the University of Edinburgh, bringing some Scottish grit to our team. Whenever we’re inching close to a deadline, Ellie’s there with her reminders, making sure we cross the finish line on time.

Eugenio Garcia Rodriguez: The Strategic Solver
Eugenio, a Computer Science grad from Mexico City, has a knack for untangling our toughest problems. After working with a software company, he joined BCG in Mexico City and quickly rose to Senior Associate. His structure and methodical approach add a touch of consultancy magic to our discussions, making even the complex cases seem solvable. With Eugenio around, we know we’ll always find our way, no matter how difficult the challenge!

Will Likitabhorn: The Visionary Doctor
Will is the doctor in our group, but he’s also the visionary who constantly reminds us of the bigger picture. With an MD (Doctor of Medicine) and a Master’s in Public Health from Atlanta, he’s focused on transforming healthcare through innovation and accessibility. Will’s fresh perspectives shake up our discussions, and he always manages to bring in angles none of us had considered. A true force in our group, he helps us think about impact in a whole new way.

So that’s Study Group 15! Together, we’re tackling cases, learning to work with each other’s strengths, and challenging our limits. And while we might be from different corners of the world, our group spirit makes every hurdle feel achievable. Here’s to many more study sessions, late nights, and big wins!
