What is Sundowners:

As a student at LBS, the tradition of Sundowners may just be the highlight of your week. This cherished event is more than just a social gathering; it’s a celebration of community, a chance to unwind, and a unique opportunity to bond with peers in an informal, lively setting.

The Atmosphere:

Sundowners at LBS is an end-of-week tradition where all members of the LBS community come together to relax, recharge, and connect as the sun sets on the horizon. Held on Thursday evenings, Sundowners provide a friendly space to shake off the week’s challenges, engage in meaningful conversations, and expand networks in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Think of it as a casual mixer, but with the warm, inclusive vibe that only LBS can offer.

The magic of Sundowners lies not only in the people but in the environment that LBS creates. The event is organized and lead by members of the Student Association who are in touch if students have had a tough week and need a break. Hosted on campus, students can enjoy some good company inside or on the famous front lawn, enhancing the experience. It’s a low-key yet vibrant atmosphere, making it easy to meet new people or catch up with old friends.

A Perfect Blend of Networking and Fun:

Sundowners is more than just an event; it’s a tradition that cultivates a sense of belonging. New students find Sundowners especially valuable for adjusting to the fast pace of business school life. Returning students relish it as a place to reconnect and recharge. This shared experience fosters camaraderie and a sense of LBS community that’s felt long after the event ends each week.

One of the standout features of Sundowners is how effortlessly it blends networking with genuine fun. As a Graduate Masters student, you’re often focused on academics, projects, and career progression. Sundowners provides a reprieve from that rigour and a platform for spontaneous connections and meaningful interactions. Here, conversations flow easily, and it’s common to meet people from all corners of the globe, adding an international flavour that mirrors LBS’ diverse student body. This is not the typical networking event where everyone is exchanging business cards; rather, it’s a space where people can let down their guard, exchange ideas, and form lasting friendships.
