Which Early Career programme is for you?

by Paige Morgan, Recruitment Coordinator, Early Careers

Deciding your next step after graduation from your undergraduate degree can be a daunting, although very exciting, decision! As part of the Early Career portfolio we have 3 programmes, each focusing on a different area of business, to prepare you for the next step in your career: Masters in Financial Analysis (MFA), Masters in Management (MiM) and Global Masters in Management (Global MiM).

The Masters in Financial Analysis programme is ideal for those who are interested in finance and have a quantitative undergraduate degree. Due to the focus of the programme, it is no surprise that the majority of our MFA graduates choose the finance industry as their next step, with alumni going into the likes of Investment Banking, Private Equity and Investment Management. Although consulting and technology does still hold one sixth of our MFA graduates, indicative of the diversity you’ll experience here at LBS.

The Masters in Management programme offers the opportunity for a well-rounded business Masters degree, allowing you to explore various areas of business that you may encounter within the real world and gaining a good practical knowledge base. Whether you have done an internship in a Private Equity firm, have studied fashion or have an engineering background, all are welcome on this programme to offer a diverse, exciting class!

The Global Masters in Management programme is our 2 year programme which is great for those individuals who are looking to gain international exposure. As the second year comprises of a year abroad studying at Fudan University, it is important that the Asian culture is of interest to you, but don’t worry about learning Mandarin before you come here as you will take a Mandarin course whilst studying the Global MiM. Some of our Global MiM graduates also stay in Asia after the programme, so this programme is a great option for you if this is something that you are looking to do.

When studying at London Business School, you will also have access to over 70 clubs, varying from social to professional. So even if you are studying the MiM but have an interest in Finance, you could always join the Private Equity Club, giving you that insight and access to the finance community at LBS. Our clubs are open to all LBS students and allow you to expand your horizons even further beyond your chosen programme.

If you are unsure which programme you would eligible for, please get in contact with us on earlycareers@london.edu and we will be happy to help you!
